'We will not go back': Hundreds protest for abortion access in Phoenix

Arizona could outlaw most abortions if SCOTUS overturns Roe

Hundreds of pro-choice demonstrators descended on the State Capitol in Phoenix Tuesday, a day after a leaked draft U.S. Supreme Court majority opinion indicated justices would overturn two landmark rulings guaranteeing women reasonable access to abortion.

Demonstraters, largely women, chanted “Bans off our bodies,” and “We will not go back,” referring to a time before 1973 when abortion access was not constitutionally guaranteed across the country.

Later in the evening, a handful of pro-life counter-protesters showed up with anti-abortion signs, surrounded by the larger pro-choice crowd.
