OPINION — When the Department of Defense was renamed the Department of War, we could have guessed. Despite accusing numerous presidents of defenseless arguments for entering into the embroiled conflicts of other countries, it seems like it was his plan all along (or worse, a 2 a.m. “impulse” buy).
D.T. doesn’t like insubordination; surely not from rogue nations who chant “Death to America.” But chants don’t make wars. Bombing other countries does.
For nearly 50 years Presidents have supported Israel's legitimate distrust of the Iranian regime in ways that didn’t directly engage Iran, knowing (through the advice of intelligence advisors) instability in the Middle East exposes us to extreme risk. Until…we elected the most blatantly reckless president this country has ever seen. Without thought to logistics, consequences, or purpose, we adopted someone else’s war…again.
