During Tuesday’s Phoenix City Council meeting, District 7 Councilmember Anna Hernandez said Americans and Phoenix residents are “under attack” by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“I want to remind us all that we are under attack, and that we as a city need to get ready and figure out how we are going to protect our residents,” Hernandez said.
Hernandez said she stands in solidarity with the anti-ICE protestors in Minnesota and held a moment of silence in the council chambers for the people killed during the past year by ICE.
