Wayne R. Roades
Posted
At this second anniversary of the passing of Wayne Roades, we recall him fondly. Wayne was ready to help when asked. He performed small repairs, trips to and from the airport, grocery shopping, window and house cleaning, and was open to help in any way he was able. He loved a good yard sale and was known to pass on items to those who needed them or simply as gifts. A modest man, he became good friends with some of those he met while providing such services. He was honest and trustworthy. Wayne was a talker. He always enjoyed a bit of conversation, at no charge, before settling into his work. On September 20, 2021, Wayne died while doing what he did for much of his life - he was helping a friend. Complications from diabetes contributed to the sudden loss of this longtime SCW resident. Born 1-31-1953 in Hammond Lake, IN, Wayne was the youngest of three sons born to Linden Harrison Roades and Muriel Joyce (Dreggors) Roades. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Dean. He is survived by brother L. Dale Roades, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
