Water usage under allotment on Sun City West golf courses

Conservation continues for rec centers

Recreation Centers of Sun City West water use remains under the alloted amount by Arizona Department of Water Resources.

Water use during the past 10 years has remained under the alloted amount. In 2013, 3,878 acre-feet of water was used by rec center officials, and that particular year 3.72 inches of rain was recorded. During 2021, 3,677 acre-feet was used with 9.68 inches of rainfall. According to RCSCW Environmental Services Manager Todd Patty after the numbers are compiled in January for 2022, those too will be in good shape and under the alloted amount.

Year-to-date from January through November, 3,586 acre-feet of water was used, with 3,798 acre-feet budgeted. Patty said currently the water use is 212 acre-feet under budget, which is 30.28 acre-feet under for each golf course.
