Water, other Mesa utility costs going up

Rate adjustments start Feb. 1

Mesa residents will be paying almost a $1 more for city water and 70 cents more for wastewater services per month starting in February.

City-owned utilities from natural gas to water, wastewater, solid waste and electricity have new fees, rates and charges that go into effect Feb. 1.

The Mesa City Council discussed the changes at meetings in September and November. They voted unanimously Dec. 8 to approve modifying the terms, rates, fees and charges, with Vice Mayor Jenn Duff voting by Zoom.
