Water officially turned on to fill Glendale’s newest lake

Heroes Regional Park’s newest element ‘a long time coming’

Water is officially flowing into Glendale’s newest lake.

The city this week opened the valve to fill the new lake at Heroes Regional Park, at 8300 W. Bethany Home Road. While the official grand opening won’t arrive for a few more weeks, years of work and waiting culminated with water finally starting to fill the lake.

“We have begged, cajoled and pleaded to get the funding as different elements of the park have taken place,” Glendale City Councilmember Joyce Clark, who represents the Yucca District where the park calls home, said during the ceremonial turning on of the water this week. “It’s a promise this city made to the residents.”
