Water conservation remains priority in Sun City West

PORA Water Committee educates residents

Water conservation in Sun City West is important and both residents and Recreation Centers of Sun City West officials are working to play a part.

David Hunter, Property Owners and Residents Association Water Committee chairman, said the process by which Sun City West receives water includes EPCOR, pumping out of the aquifer, then it is treated and goes into a home. From there, the water gets back into the sewer system where it can recharge the aquifer.

But Hunter said it is important to conserve the water used daily. In the north Surprise area, there are currently six wells with a proposed eight additional to support the new communities in the area.
