SUN CITY WEST - Walter Leo Violand, Jr., born March 25, 1948, wonderful father to Patrick Violand (Veronika), Melanie Violand (Dave Powers), and Holly Tipton (Jason); caring grandfather to Janelle, Parker, Chloe, Jackson and Sawyer; and loving husband to Karen Stricherz, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 14, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Lois Violand; and his siblings, MaryLou Ansberry (Jay), Charles Violand (Sandy), Barb Fridley (George), Kathy Violand, Tim Violand (Jennifer), and Lois Wannen (Mark) and the mother of his children, Audrey Violand.
