Charter schools recognize veterans, service workers with honor walk

Children waving American flags lined the halls of Imagine Rosefield Elementary in Surprise during the annual Honor Walk event to celebrate local veterans and first responders.

The tuition-free charter school for grades PreK through fifth grade recognized the many public servants on Nov. 9, starting with a free breakfast buffet in the school cafeteria for students whose active duty and retired military parents/grandparents/guardians, plus public service workers including firefighters, police and 911 operators attended the event.

Students were directed over the intercom to report to the cafeteria “if you have a family member who is part of the military.”
