Questions arise on Sun City West voting eligibility

Only available to owner-members

Owners, associates and tenants make up the community of Sun City West and not all are eligible to vote when it comes to electing the Recreation Centers of Sun City West Governing Board members.

Associate member Jeffrey P. Clark reached out to RCSCW officials on several occasions speaking to his displeasure of being unable to vote.

“As an Associate member of RCSCW, I pay an annual fee of $497 to RCSCW, the same annual amount paid by an owner-member,” Mr. Clark stated in a March 23 email. “The Owner -member gets to vote for the people who govern the operations of RCSCW; I do not. That is discriminatory, undemocratic and autocratic. The relevant Arizona statutes need to be revised. The relevant corporate Articles of Incorporation need to be amended. The relevant association bylaws need to be updated.”
