Voters again reject Surprise school district bond, pass override

The Dysart Unified School District has been down this road before.

District voters in Surprise and El Mirage appear to have once approved the budget override continuation for another five years, but they narrowly rejected a bond measure that would have infused needed money in the district.

In first returns Tuesday night, the bond measure was failing by a little more than 1,000 votes. Maricopa County Election officials counted 30,524 ballots by the first release at 8 p.m.
