Voter fraud in U.S. federal elections is extremely rare

Sun City reader disagrees with Slade opinion on SAVE Act

OPINION — I respectfully disagree with the recent opinion piece supporting the SAVE Act by Tom Slade. The author presents concerns about election integrity as though widespread illegal voting by non-citizens is an established fact.

However, numerous studies, court reviews and investigations over many years have found that voter fraud in U.S. federal elections is extremely rare.

Strong safeguards already exist, including voter registration verification, signature matching, citizenship requirements and criminal penalties for illegal voting.
