Volunteers to paint Litchfield Park's iconic citrus trees

Litchfield Park’s citrus trees will get a fresh coat of paint as the city’s Recreation and Public Grounds Commission prepares to host volunteers Saturday and Sunday.

The majority of the city’s nearly 500 citrus trees are expected to be repainted over the weekend with the exception of some in proximity to The Wigwam, where lawns were recently reseeded.

When the city made calls to the public asking for help repainting the trees, it received an outpouring of responses, especially from youth groups.
