Volunteers needed to help Tempe decide $1.1M human service allocation

Tempe is looking for volunteers to help determine how $1.1 million should be distributed to human services agencies.

Volunteers will review funding applications from nonprofit groups, interview their leadership and score their responses, according to a city release.

The results are sent to the Tempe City council as funding recommendations.

“Your input will help provide a variety of services needed for Tempe residents which range from basic needs, aging services, shelter/housing to mental health, youth, crisis assistance, disabilities and more,” city officials said in the release.

Volunteer orientation and training will take place virtually on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
