Volunteers gave more than 129,000 hours to City of Scottsdale last fiscal year

In fiscal year 2024/25, nearly 4,700 volunteers contributed more than 129,000 hours of service across Scottsdale city programs, from libraries and senior centers to public safety and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.

Those efforts represent an estimated $4.35 million in value based on the most recent Independent Sector calculation for volunteer time, according to a City of Scottsdale press release.

Volunteers support a wide range of city services. In the McDowell Sonoran Preserve alone, 615 conservancy stewards contributed more than 72,000 hours helping protect and educate visitors about one of Scottsdale’s most treasured natural resources.
