Virtual HOA/condo academy coming to Surprise

6 classes scheduled for board members, property managers

A virtual HOA/condo academy and upcoming in-person HOA summit is designed for all homeowners association or condominium board member, owner or property manager in Surprise.

Join Beth Mulcahy, Esq., of the Mulcahy Law Firm for the 2024 HOA/Condo Academy. Attendees can sign up for six classes offered monthly through Zoom and Facebook Live.

The first is “Unwrapped: Exploring Hot Topics and Headlines for the New Year” from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 16. It will cover various topics impacting HOAs/condos in 2024. Delve into vital community issues, from new legislation to social media, electric cars, disaster planning and more.

“Mastering HOA/Condo Board Meetings: From Annual Meetings to Regular Board Meetings” is set for 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 20. Learn tips on how to run successful and productive annual and regular board meetings. Plus, get suggestions on how to increase attendance at meetings.

March 19 will bring “Turning Challenges into Triumphs: Strategic Solutions for HOA and Condo Woes” from 11 a.m. to noon. It will offer solutions for HOAs and condos facing a variety of challenges, including aging infrastructure, inadequate income, budget planning, fraud and more.

For those interested in attending “Navigating Stormy Waters: Strategies for Handling Difficult People and Situations In HOAs/Condos,” it’s scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 16. This will bring tips for managing difficult situations, handling difficult owners, as well as removal of a board member and code of conduct.

The class “Charting Your Course: A Comprehensive Guide to Board Rolesand Responsibilities In HOAs/Condos” is set for 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, May 21 It covers the roles, responsibilities, risks, and fiduciary duties of board members.

In “Untangling the Web: Navigating Politics and FAQs In HOAs/Condos,” attendees will discuss the politics inside and outside of an HOA/Condo and the most frequently asked questions. It’s from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, June 18.

Online registration is required for all the summits.

On Wednesday, Feb. 28, join the city of Surprise for the HOA Summit from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Surprise Public Safety Building Auditorium, 14250 W. Statler Plaza. This event is designed to discuss community resources, housing trends and offer expert presentations for HOA board members, property management teams and homeowners alike.
