An in-person written exam for city of Mesa firefighter recruits is being replaced with a proctored online test that can be taken outside Arizona.
The council voted unanimously Jan. 24 to approve a consent agenda that included a $60,000 contract with National Test Network Inc. based on estimated use. District 2 Councilmember Julie Spilsbury voted by phone.
The price includes the platform, test, proctoring services and study guide per candidate, based on 1,000 candidates of $55 each and a National Test Network annual membership fee of $1,250, Business Services Director Edward Quedens and Procurement Administrator Kristy Garcia said in a written city council report.
