Virginia Leigh Gourlay, 80, passed away suddenly on March 16, 2018 at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Glendale, AZ. Virginia was born November 9, 1937 in Trinidad, CO, the youngest child of Edwin and Annie Haines.She graduated from Trinidad High School in 1955 and moved to Denver where she worked as a dental assistant for many years.In 1974 she married William (Bill) Gourlay. Virginia took care of her family in their final illnesses, being a loving caregiver to her mother, brother, Herb, and sister, Betty.Virginia and Bill enjoyed retiring to Sun City West in 2004 and traveling in their RV.After Bill passed away in 2006, Virginia became a member of several social clubs, including the SCW Singles Club.She enjoyed crafts, sightseeing trips and the theater.Virginia will be remembered as a loving person, a great friend, and a person willing to help others.Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Mabel Haines and Betty Haines and her brother, Herb Haines.She will always be remembered by her good friend, Margaret Cordovano of Sun City West who will miss very much their conversations, laughs and many cups of coffee. She will also be missed by her many other friends in Sun City West and Colorado.At her request, no service will be held. Interment has taken place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
