Virginia Delores Scheibli, passed away and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2018. She was born on May 30, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI; to Theodore and Clara Pa-cific. She lost her father at the age of 12, but her loving step father Clarence May, invited his new, rather large family in to his heart. Virginia or Gin or Ginny as she was often called, grew up in Grand Rapids with eight brothers and sisters. As you can imagine, growing up during the depression with nine kids in the family had it's challenges. However, she said, no matter the circumstances, they always had fun. Some time, after graduating High School, Virginia enlisted in the Navy. She proudly served our country for one year in the Hospital Core and it was while she was in the Navy that she met her husband, Martin Scheibli. After she married, she worked several years for Western Union and later in life worked for American Express before she retired. Virginia was a classy lady that had many passions in life, had an adventures spirit and loved be-ing with friends and family. She loved traveling with her daughters and grandchildren, going to the movies, watching the Entertainment News, spending summers with her family in Michigan, camp-ing with her family, card games with friends and family, and breakfast cookouts on the beach with her husband, to name a few. But, her greatest passion was dance and music. She LOVED to dance, anywhere, any time. Dancing was a passion her whole life and she was really good at it too! Later in life she enjoyed ballroom dancing on a regular basis. You could see her 2-3 times a week cutting a rug at one of the dances held in her neighborhood. We are sure when we all meet up again in heaven, Ginny will host a huge dance party for her family and friends! The family wants to thank Amy, Daniel and Zoya at Shea Estates Assisted Living for their excel-lent care and Kyle, Gabriella, Maria and all the girls at Vista Living for their care and helping to make the last several weeks full of life with exercise, singing, dancing, entertainment and games.Virginia is survived by her two daughters and son in laws, Karen and Dan McKelvie and Patrese and John Collins, her four grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin and April, Eric and Deanna, Jennifer and Justin and Ethan, her six great grandchildren, Jacob, Kade, Brianna, Breck, Rory and Duke and her five brothers and sisters, Carol, Terri, Ted, Fred, and Tom. She is preceded in death by her husband, Marty, her son Scott, her sister Marie, her brothers Carl and Ron and her parents and stepfather. She was greatly loved and will be profoundly missed.A chapel service followed by a short graveside service and then reception was held on Saturday, January 20, 1:00 P.M. at Holy Cross Funeral Home and Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Road, Avondale, AZ. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, memorials may be donated to the Salvation Army.
