The most gracious, loving, kind, and caring mother and friend was born to Leona Margrette Brandt and Walter Lionel Gardels in Beemer, Neb. on Oct. 11, 1922 and passed to eternal life on Jan. 29, 2017. Violetta spent a happy childhood in West Point, Neb. Married Orvin T. Soll on Jul. 1, 1941. Settling in Ainsworth, Neb. she reared her blessed four children with unconditional love and devotion in a strong Christian faith. God blessed her with an incredibly beautiful soprano voice that brought her immense pleasure. Her greatest lifelong passion was singing in church choirs and presenting solos. Vi and Orv moved to Sun City West in 1979 where they were instrumental in the startup of Desert Garden United Church of Christ. She has been a devoted supporter, involved in Care Ministry, pastor support and active choir member for 34 years. Violetta hopes she will be remembered as a loving and caring person-to love one another as God loves us. "How much better this world would be if this were true." She considered Family and Friends to be Life's Greatest Gifts and enjoyed lively conversation, displaying great insight, humor and frankness. Her deep blue eyes and beautiful smile would light up a room. She is survived by her children, daughter, Diane Johnson (Ron Johnson) Marietta, Ga., daughter, Ellen Whiting (Cliff Whiting) Lincoln, Neb., son, Michael Soll (Catherine Sand-Soll) Boulder, Colo., and son, Brian Soll, Sun City West.
