Video studio upgrades coming to Chandler City Hall

The city of Chandler will soon have an updated video studio, bringing its former capabilities up to the latest technology and offerings.

When council approved the consent agenda at its July 20 meeting, it included a $792,000 contract with SGR Media for video broadcast equipment and a studio upgrade.

Vice Mayor Matt Orlando, when asked about the two purchases after a July 17 study session, told the Chandler Independent the video production facilities, which opened in 2010, are now antiquated and not adaptable to modern technology such as internet-based video production and live-streaming.
