The Surprise Police Department has released body cam footage from the March officer-involved shooting near Walmart, showing the events leading up to the deadly shots.
Joseph Martin, 28, was shot and killed by an unnamed Surprise officer March 28 during an altercation in the backseat of a car.
Authorities were called to the scene when Martin refused to leave the parking lot of Walmart near Grand Avenue and Bell Road. An unnamed nearby business called police to report Martin was allegedly trespassing in the parking lot.
