Verna Laven, 93Sun City resident Verna B. Laven died in her sleep June 8, 2008.Ms. Laven, described by her family as a beloved wife, sister, daughter, aunt and friend, was born April 1, 1915. She graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, Mo. The Lavens moved around the country 19 times following Mr. Laven's career. She volunteered as a Pink Lady in hospitals wherever she lived. Throughout her life she championed and is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lennart Laven, of Royal Oaks Lifecare Community; and five nieces, Natalie Weikart of Bowie, Mo., Trish Martindell of Cincinnati, Beth Lowe of DeSoto, Kan., Linda Johnson of Andover, Kan. and Diane Lachenmayr of Newton, Kan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hulda and Ernest Wahlberg; a sister, Amy Seaver; and a brother, John Wahlberg.
