Vehicle hits, kills man changing tire along I-10 in Tempe

A man was killed late Friday night while changing a tire on westbound Interstate 10 in Tempe, Arizona Department of Public Safety officials said.

The collision happened at about 11:30 p.m. July 16 on I-10 near Broadway Road. The man’s vehicle was parked on the left side of the road, partially blocking the HOV lane, according to DPS.

Another vehicle struck the man, causing fatal injuries, officials said. Impairment has been ruled out as a cause of the collision.
