Variance discussion postponed on mother-in-law suite for Mesa home

Discussion on allowing a variance for a mother-in-law suite to be constructed within the required rear yard setback at 939 E. Kael St. has been postponed to give city staff time to research 20 nearby addresses with similar encroachments.

The staff recommendation on the case had been for denial of the request.

The Mesa Board of Adjustment on Oct. 13 voted unanimously to continue the case to a future meeting.
