Variance approved for lot split on Second Street in Mesa

Two lots can be created at 732 E. Second St. in a single residence-zoned district, the Mesa Board of Adjustment decided recently.

A variance from the minimum required lot width and area to allow the creation of two lots was approved by the board in a consent agenda with other items May 5.

The Mesa zoning ordinance requires a minimum lot width of 55 feet and a minimum lot area of 6,000 square feet, Mesa Planner Jennifer Gniffke said during a study session prior to the meeting.
