Vandal who damaged Phoenix Art Museum dinosaur sculpture sentenced

A 59-year-old man was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and ordered to pay $23,308 in restitution for vandalizing a sculpture at the Phoenix Art Museum, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday in a release.

Todd Maddox pleaded guilty to one count of criminal damage for vandalizing a dinosaur sculpture at the museum in March.

Phoenix Police responded to reports of a man damaging a dinosaur sculpture on display at the museum, according to the release. Museum staff provided officers with photographs and video showing the suspect breaking pieces off a marble wall and throwing them at the exhibit.
