Valleywise Health has big plans for the future in Phoenix

New hospital, community clinics in the works

One of the Valley’s longest- running health care systems has its sights set on growth during the next few years, with special attention being paid to the community’s most vulnerable.

Valleywise Health, which has served the Valley for over 140 years, is in the midst of building a new, state-of-theart hospital on 24th Street and Roosevelt in Phoenix. The Valleywise Health Medical Center is set to be completed in 2023. Valleywise is also opening up two additional community health clinics in the next year to better reach underserved communities. The development projects are indicative of Valleywise’s dedication to finding new ways to serve its patients.

“Our physicians, nurses and staff work so hard each day to provide exceptional care to our patients, and the prospect of this new facility provides a lift to us all as we see such a bright future for our system and the care we will be able to deliver to the residents of Maricopa County,” said Lia Christiansen, Valleywise’s new chief administrative officer. “This new facility will allow us to continue to meet our mission to provide exceptional care, without exception, every patient, every time.” The new facility will offer 673,000 square feet of space across the 10-story building and will be located adjacent to the current medical center, which was built in the 1960s and opened in 1971.
