Valley Youth Theatre will stage the anticipated return of “A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail” starting in December.
This tale, based on the beloved characters created by A.A. Milne, has become a tradition as it captures the joy during the festive season. Performances will run from Friday, Dec. 1 to Saturday, Dec. 23 at the theater located at 525 N. 1st St., in Phoenix.
Back for the 26th year, “A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail” comes to life from the young actors of the Valley Youth Theatre, a nonprofit that has offered the performing arts to Valley children since 1989.
"We are thrilled to bring back ‘A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail,’ for yet another season," Bobb Cooper, Billie Jo & Judd Herberger executive producer, shared in a press release. "This production has become a cherished tradition for families and individuals looking to immerse themselves in the magic of the holiday season.”
The production sends audiences to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh and his friends embark on a heartwarming adventure filled with laughter, friendship, and the true meaning of Christmas.

“A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail” is directed by Ashley Stults with musical direction by Tyler Thompson, lighting design by Dawson Bryce Buckholz, and sound design by Tom Holmberg. The production stage manager is Morgan McCall. Book. Music and lyrics are by James W. Rodgers, inspired by A.A. Milne’s “Winnie-the-Pooh.”
