Valley Vista senior twins Trenton and Tyson Givens have grown during their four years of high school — in every sense of the word.
Nowhere has this maturation been more obvious than on the track. Tyson was just arriving on the radar in Arizona two years ago. Now the brothers are, arguably, the two best hurdlers in the state.
At the Chandler Rotary meet April 10, the biggest meet of the season before the state finals — which start today — Tyson won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.30, with Trenton second in 14.59. In the 300-meter hurdles Logan Hubler of American Leadership Academy-Queen Creek won in 38.27, Tyson was second in 38.34 and Trenton fourth in 39.53.
