A Valley resident took a top spot in an online video game tournament aimed at raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Arizona native Ricky Olguin, who was born in Yuma and has resided in Buckeye and Tempe, took fifth place in the livestreamed event. Olguin joined the U.S. Army as a medic in 2013 for four years until he medically retired.
The Wounded Warrior Project recently wrapped up its Capture the Flag campaign, a three-week livestreaming event that extended from Military Appreciation Month in May to Flag Day in June. The event raised more than $24,000 to fuel Wounded Warrior Project’s programs and services for warriors and their families.
