Valley spots to be for St. Patrick’s Day

From the Irish Cultural Center to the Musical Instrument Museum to green beer at bars

For but one day, Arizona trades glorious golden sunsets and blue skies for green, green, green.

St. Patrick’s Day, an Irish and Irish-American holiday commemorates the death, as legend has it, of Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, on March 17, circa 492. The 43rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Phoenix is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14 as the route goes down 3rd Street from Oak Street to Margaret T Hance Park.

In addition, the Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library will host its inaugural “Emerald Experience.” The site, located at 1106 N. Central Ave., in Phoenix, will host the day-long event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14.
