Valley restaurateur who pioneered numerous popular spots dies

Lee Cohn and his partners in Big 4 Restaurants impacted generations in the industry

Valley restaurant properties designed by Lee Cohn over the past 50 years were a lot more than just spots around town to grab a bite.

Cohn and his partners in the celebrated Big 4 Restaurants hospitality group launched many iconic Valley restaurants including Ed Debevic’s, Oscar Taylor’s, Steamers, and The American Grill since debuting their first, The Lunt Avenue Marble Club, in Tempe in 1973.

Cohn died Jan. 2 at the age of 78 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
