Valley residents rally to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine

As the deadly Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, many Valley residents have rallied to the Ukrainian people who are under siege.

“They’re trying to do what they can right now, and we’re trying to do what we can here also,” said Victor Szwez, president of the board of the St. Mary’s Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Phoenix.

St. Mary’s, at 10th and Portland Streets in Phoenix, has been a focal point of both cash donations and medical supplies being shipped to Ukraine.
