Valley rain expected to dry up by Saturday night

Storms move into the Phoenix area as the dark clouds release rain. Wet weather is expected to dry up just in time for Christmas Day.

Wet weather is expected to dry up just in time for Christmas Day, according to Mark O’Malley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, Sun City had received 0.33 inches of rain while 0.45 inches of rain fell the same day at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, the meteorologist said.

Since Dec. 1, Sky Harbor had seen only 0.16 inches of rainfall until Friday’s storm, he said. But the wet weather won’t be sticking around long.
