Valley providers struggle to meet high COVID-19 testing demand

Appointments doubled ahead of holidays

Until recently, getting tested for COVID-19 was easy: appointments were widely available at pharmacies across the Valley and at-home rapid tests were plentiful.

Now, appointments are scarce and shelves have been emptied of test kits.

The demand for COVID-19 testing has surged along with the highly transmissible omicron variant, and local experts say that won’t likely change anytime soon as the holidays have brought large gatherings to the forefront and another resurgence of the virus.
