PRE-PRESS

Valley Newspapers, 23043 N. 16th Lane in Phoenix, has a full multi-shift electronic pre-press department featuring the KODAK-CREO Prinergy workflow that  standardizes file formats and creates a simplified, automated, efficient workflow. This software allows greater control over output quality and the ability to easily reproduce ad and editorial content for use in other media.

Easy to use, Prinergy provides for full control of page preparation for electronic proofing and file exchange with a single mouse click. Users can send PDF or PDF/X-1a files as the digital master format in the Prinergy workflow and can select from multiple file format options for output of files.

It allows one to streamline and automate page preparation and ensures that the generated files can be printed hassle-free in the production workflow. Prinergy features an Oracle database for workflow management, job tracking, and reporting. The Prinergy system is part of the awarding-winning family of Prinergy workflow from KODAK-CREO.  Currently deployed in more than 1000 installations worldwide, the Prinergy workflow is preferred and proven PDF-based workflow management solution in the market today.

THE PRESS ROOM

The press is a 10 tower 40-unit two folder magnumi, which is unique to our corner of the Arizona marketplace. We have two folders and a multitude of combinations to help maximize  color placement and product line.

With a continuing market approach, including booklets, compacts, tabloids and broadsheet products using several different paper sizes and grades --- the future is bright at Valley Newspapers in Arizona.

The Goss Magnum press is the latest evolution within the Goss single-width, one-plate-around press series and is capable of producing broadsheet, tabloid, or quarter page. The press utilizes a vertical arrangement of printing units and is an ideal choice for newspaper publishers or insert and semi-commercial printers interested in producing a wide variety of products and formats.
