Valley monsoon could bring below normal rain amounts

Drier-than-normal temps could be coming to the Valley as La Niña is likely to return this summer, according to the National Weather Service.

The Valley’s weather pattern could transition to from El Niño to La Niña anywhere between June and August, said Sean Benedict, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

The La Niña weather pattern is said to bring drier temps to the Valley — the opposite of an El Niño weather pattern. Current temps are already hot.
