Valley hotels providing free stay for medical professionals
Healthy doctors, nurses and other medical professionals on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak can receive a reprieve from treating patientsm and can rest easy keeping their families safe by not sleeping at home, through complimentary hotel nights at five Phoenix-area properties owned by real estate development and investment firm Caliber.
“After a thorough review of our hotels and their related performance in 2020, Caliber has decided to not close our properties as we are currently supporting airline crews, essential service workers and others,” Caliber CEO Chris Loeffler stated in a release. “Considering that, we have excess capacity to house individuals affected by the current health situation, and providing complimentary nights is a way that our company can give back to those working hard for the rest of us.”
The company requests that “Operation Sleep Safe” participants observe all the safety protocols they would at home or at the hospital to protect staff and other guests, including frequent temperature checks, washing hands, observing social distancing and other measures.

If the COVID-19 crisis continues, Caliber plans to re-evaluate Operation Sleep Safe and may continue the program beyond May, Caliber COO Jennifer Schrader stated.
“We're pleased to be able to provide this gift of 1,500 room nights during the next two months to the medical teams working to treat patients and defeat COVID-19,” Ms. Schrader stated in the release. The total value of the donated rooms for Operation Sleep Safe is $225,000. “And Caliber is happy to expand the program if the need persists and we have available guest capacity. All of us need to come together and help as best we can.”
