Phoenix-area hospital vaccine mandates result in employee turnover

Hiring skilled staff continues to be a challenge

Valley hospitals that have made the COVID-19 vaccine a requirement of employment have seen their deadlines come and go, as well as some staff members.

Nov. 1 was the deadline for the majority of Phoenix- area hospital systems with the vaccine mandate, with hospital employees required to show proof of vaccination against the virus or otherwise seek a religious or medical exemption in order to stay employed at a time when hospitals are woefully understaffed.
