Valley golf growth models require younger generation

Programs like GPS, First Tee, JGAA look beyond country clubs

Golf, once considered a dying sport as younger people seemed to abandoning the game, appears to be attempting a comeback.

According to National Golf Foundation statistics, 2022 marked the fifth straight year of green grass participation increases with 25.6 million Americans playing on a golf course.

That is a net increase of 500,000 golfers ages 6 and up. The figure also marks steady, if slow growth for an industry that bottomed out with 23.8 million players in 2017.
