Valley cities work to reduce traffic crashes

When it comes to the Valley’s most dangerous intersections, there are nowhere more dangerous that 10 primarily in west Phoenix and Glendale.

Those, along with other intersections in the region, have gotten worse even as the pandemic cut traffic to fraction of normal. Vehicle fatalities went up nearly 25% in Phoenix from 2020 to 2021, according to Kini Knudson, street transportation department director for the city of Phoenix.

That increasing trend could continue for 2022.
