Valley, Arizona gas prices jump to among highest in nation

If it feels like gas prices around the Valley have jumped significantly in the past week, it’s because they have, according to AAA Arizona.

Arizona has the sixth-highest gas price in the nation on average as refineries prepare to transition to its more expensive summer fuel blends, according to the AAA Arizona website.

Gas in Maricopa County is averaging about $3.64 per gallon — 24 cents higher per gallon than the current state average as of Feb. 13, the website stated.
