Utility rates, vehicle purchases, park contractor on East Valley council's agendas

In addition to many other actions, the Chandler City Council will be tasked with some tough decisions this week on utilities, vehicle purchases, a major parks contract and one for the rebuild of water treatment facilities.

The vehicle purchases alone will seem high-priced to some, though those aren’t nearly the most expensive items on the agendas.

Three vehicle purchases on the 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12 study session are for the city’s transportation division. A bucket truck is priced at about $220,000; a dump truck is about $218,000 and a water truck is about $175,000.
