Upgrade work closes PVCC’s Buxton Library for 5 weeks

Posted

Buxton Library on the Paradise Valley Community College main campus is closed until Aug. 6 while upgrades are taking place.

Some services will continue to assist summer session students and serve the community, according to a release.

“Our library and its staff are vital components of the college,” Dr. Tiffany Hunter, president at PVCC, said.

“The facility serves students as well as the community, so keeping it in great condition means a few upgrades. Fortunately, we’re able to offer select services while upgrades are made.”

Despite the five-week closure, students and the community can still schedule one-on-one virtual appointments with a librarian via the Cranium Cafe, access ASK a Librarian 24/7 chat service, use the computers and study space in the Learning Center and Computer Commons and take advantage of culture passes and reserves using door-side check out by emailing library@paradisevalley.edu.

The college will continue to go through a series of improvements throughout the summer, including technology upgrades and lockdown buttons for classrooms, parking lot resurfacing and service and aesthetic improvements, the release stated.
