Of more than 450 lane miles of streets in Apache Junction, there are a couple areas in the worst shape that are to be reconstructed this fiscal year, the City Council was told recently.
“(W)e have a subdivision of Haven Hollow that has probably some of the worst streets in Apache Junction that haven’t been touched in a long time, so we hope to get in there to do some reconstruction of the pavement. However, what’s been taking so long is we have some drainage issues,” said Shane Kiesow, public works manager for the city of Apache Junction, during a July 6 presentation on the fiscal year 2021-22 capital improvement and street maintenance plan.
