Drunk Shakespeare returns with tales from the high seas
"Drunk Pirates" debuts June 10 at the Rose Theater in downtown Phoenix.
Drunk Shakespeare Society
The Drunk Shakespeare Society is setting sail in Phoenix with its newest production, “Drunk Pirates,” a high-energy, alcohol-infused comedy adapted from Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island.”
The show will open June 10 and run for 12 weeks at The Rose Theater in the Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix.
The production follows a crew of pirates in pursuit of Captain Flint’s lost treasure — with one major twist: one professional actor consumes five shots of rum before attempting to perform a leading role. What unfolds is a fast-paced, unpredictable performance filled with improvisation, audience interaction and unexpected chaos.
