Members of a water authority for Valley cities are urging the state Legislature to spend money bolstering other water sources because of uncertainty surrounding the state’s Colorado River water supply.
“If we are to persevere in the face of our current challenges and continue to thrive, we must be willing to plan and invest in water resources and infrastructure,” said Warren Tenney, executive director of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association, during the group’s Dec. 11 meeting.
Tenney said he and his staff met recently with legislators from both sides of the aisle to try to impart how important taking action on water resources is to the Valley cities that AMWUA represents.
