“Being named Grand Marshal of the Fiesta Bowl Parade is such an incredible honor – and being able to celebrate with the state that helped shape who I am makes it even more special,” Bella said in a press release. “I am so excited to join everyone in Arizona to create lifelong memories at the Parade and into the CFP Semifinal at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl festivities.”
Raised in Arizona, Bella excelled as a soccer player and a rodeo champion before embarking on a professional career at WWE in 2007. Bella has remained connected to Arizona, frequently returning for community initiatives, philanthropic work and family ties.
In only the second year of the 12-team playoff, the Fiesta Sports Foundation will host the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 8 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
The 55th annual game will be broadcast live nationally on ESPN.
The Vrbo Fiesta Bowl will send its winner to the CFP National Championship Game in Miami on Jan. 19. This is the fourth time the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl will serve as a CFP Semifinal.
